The Stock Handling System on the Gut Gollin Estate

The system we have developed to handle the animals is used without the need to sedate them. A central raceway along which the animals can be herded is ideal - with access to  it from each individual paddock. The animals can then be moved between paddocks via the central raceway or can be herded into the handling yard. The handling yard Is at the end of the raceway and consists of 5 sections. The entire handling system is funnel-shaped. We plan and build these handling systems, as well as complete deer farms including the fencing and, on request, these can be customised to your individual needs and wishes.

Section 1: Room for a herd, max 70 animals

-

The handling yard must be at least 2.5m high.
Unedged boards (2500 x 25mm) are ideally suited - they can be screwed on vertically to ensure complete coverage. In order to avoid injury, it is vital that the animals cannot look out of the yard. The gate must also be extremely sturdy. When the green gate is closed it is important that no animal sees a way to escape!

Section 2: Pre-selection for between 2 and 5 animals

-
It is important that each section contains at least 2 access doors!

Section 3: Separation and Passage to deer crush

-
A board is fixed to the track and this is used to herd the animal into the deer crush. As a precaution there must always be a barrier
between the stock and the stock handlers to prevent them from being injured by the animals.

Section 4: Deer Crush, purely mechanical with in-built  scales

-        -
Deer crush, height-adjustable                                         Stag restrained without the use of sedation

Section  5: The Quarantine Area

-
The quarantine area with 14 quarantine pens, room for 14 (one animal per pen) up to approx. 120 animals
