The Construction of Game fences and Farms, methods of restraining the animals
|
|
The basic requirement for each game farm/park is a sturdy game fence. The choice of materials is paramount. Only sturdy woven wire fencing with continuous horizontal and vertical wires with separate knots is suitable. Woven wire fencing, in which either the horizontal or the vertical wires are interrupted by a knot is completely unsuitable. The following materials and measures fall in line with our ideas of sturdy fences - ideal for the biggest and strongest Red deer.
- We only use fence posts made of high-pressure treated wood.
- The line posts have a diameter of approx. 13cm and a length of 350 cm.
- The corner, gate and box posts have a diameter of approx. 20 cm and a length of 370 cm.
- The line posts are driven into the ground to a depth of 130 cm and the box posts to a depth of 150 cm.
- Only fence posts which have been driven into the ground will exhibit the necessary durability in the long term.
- We can drive up to 25 posts per hour with our KINGHITTER post driver.

- The wire of the woven wire fencing that we use has a diameter of 2.5mm.
- 17 horizontal (line) wires, where the vertical (stay) wires are spaced 15cm apart, produce a fence height of 203cm.
- The knot with which the line and stay wires are fixed is made of a separate piece of wire.
- The best possible galvanisation as well as the high tensile strength of the wires means this woven wire fencing exhibits high resistance to impact and lasting durabilty.
- This is, in our experience, the best woven wire fencing on the market!

- At the end of a raceway there must be a deer crush into which the animals can be driven without too much stress.
- Our crushes work purely mechanically and require neither electric nor hydraulic assistance.
- The animals can be held in the crush safely and without any danger of injury.
- Certain husbandry tasks can be carried out without the need to sedate the animals.
- We have incorporated a set of scales in the floor of our crush so that we can also weigh the animals while they are being restrained.

- We will take care of the entire planning of your deer farm.
- It is important to have a deer farm with a handling system which can be operated without the use of sedation.
- Let us take care of the whole project for you – we can plan and set the whole system up!
Come and visit us at the Gut Gollin Estate, where you can see several systems in operation! |
